Gender?

I'm not very familiar with the subject, but it seems as though this is a gender-nuetral monster, so would it be all right to change all the "he"s to "it"?? Turnstep 19:44, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

First comic book appearance?

The "publication information" states that Shuma-Gorath was first mentioned in Marvel Premiere #5, and the "publication history" indicated that Dr. Strange faced Shuma-Gorath in Marvel Premiere #3-9. Neither of these things are true. In Marvel Premiere #3 Strange is hit by a truck and battles Nightmare in his dreams, Shuma-Gorath isn't mentioned. In #4 Strange encounters the Spawn of Sligguth and is captured by them as part of a plot to release an entity revealed to be Shuma-Gorath in Marvel Premiere #5 (cover dated November 1972) which is probably where the confusion is. However, the first mention of Shuma-Gorath in a Marvel comic is actually a month earlier in the first issue of the relaunched Journey Into Mystery series. In the last panel of the second page the lead story in Journey Into Mystery #1 ("Dig Me No Grave!" written by Roy Thomas and illustrated by Gil Kane and Tom Palmer), the character John Grimlan says "What do you know of Shuma-Gorath... of the sunken cities, or the noxious winds that blow from Acheron--?"

This issue is cover dated October 1972 and so would appear to be the first mention of the character in a Marvel book. Presumably Gardner Fox inspired Roy Thomas to mention the name as a prelude to the unfolding Dr. Strange story, or Fox was reminded of the character by Thomas' mention and decided to add Shuma-Gorath to his story. Either way, Thomas seems to have beaten Fox to the punch in terms of Shuma-Gorath's comic book debut. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.186.90.6 (talk) 06:02, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

MCU Appearance

Why does everyone keep reverting the edits that proves that Shuma-Gorath did appear in MCU's What If...? in the first and fourth episodes as a mass of giant tentacles? I even added a reference link that also shows Marvel could be introducing Shuma-Gorath to the MCU, but none of you are reading this link out, and you just simply reverted out the edit for no good reason.
