What is a shortstop?

What is a shortstop? Please do not assume US culture. -- Tarquin 10:58 Jan 24, 2003 (UTC)

What is the derivation of the term shortstop? Pinolevalley (talk) 04:26, 28 March 2011 (UTC) this is wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C5A9:2450:7DD7:95E0:5780:CAC7 (talk) 01:25, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Photo Subject?

This article has a nice photo of a Major League shortstop in action. But who is it?--feitclub 01:35, May 7, 2005 (UTC)

I've added Anderson Machado, Cincinnati Reds to the photo's description page, but since he is quite an obscure player, I don't think it would add much to this article.

Orphaned references in Shortstop

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Shortstop's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "SABR":

  • From Joe Tinker: Script error: No such module "citation/CS1".
  • From Doc Adams: Script error: No such module "citation/CS1".

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 14:10, 5 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
