Shoestrings (US English)

Is this correct? I've never heard anyone refer to shoelaces as shoestrings, and I'm skeptical that this is a US standard term. Natureium (talk) 20:57, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Natureium - I have no idea personally, but Walmart seem to sell them, albeit with a separating space. Langcliffe (talk) 21:21, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
The term shoestring is somewhat archaic, but not altogether out of use. According to Google Trends, in the past 12 months, people in the U.S. searched as follows: shoelace = 37%, shoe lace = 34%, shoestring = 21%, shoe string = 8%.
