How relevant is the material on how the current NI Assembly works, and the reasons for its suspension, to this article? If anything, it seems to me that all that should be on this page is the relationship between the NI Assembly and the Sec. of State for NI, something that is not fully explained here. I'd do it, but I don't understand the relationship itself (that's what I came here to try to find out!) --Jfruh 20:16, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
Irish Name
How is the supposed Irish Name for the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland relevant? NotMuchToSay 18:35, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
The British Government doesn't use it, and the sources were from ROI sources. Therefore I've removed the Irish Name. Aresda (talk) 17:10, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
mcnulty
According to this from the parliaments website in march 2008 mcnulty seems to be the Secy of state for NI. Is this true?
"Sammy Wilson: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will consider prohibiting the Irish Republican Liberation Army under the Terrorism Act 2000. [185725]
Mr. McNulty: I have been asked to reply." (http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/cm200708/cmhansrd/cm080305/text/80305w0002.htm) Lihaas (talk) 13:23, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Tony McNulty is currently the Minister of State for Security, Counter-Terrorism, Crime and Policing at the Home Office. From the reply you linked to he says that "[he has] been asked to reply", which means the Northern Ireland Office has decided not to respond themselves and passed the issue to the Home Office to deal with (probably because the Terrorism Act 2000 is outside the NI Office's jurisdiction).
