Science fiction on television

Science fiction film in the 1950s

If the 1950s is the golden age do science fiction film (and it is) then why doesn't have it's own heading rather than being subsumed with the 1930s and 1940s? 107.221.229.121 (talk)

"Early films" are often not very early

Early films often used alien life forms as a threat or peril to the human race, where the invaders were frequently fictional representations of actual military or political threats on Earth as observed in films such as Mars Attacks!, Starship Troopers, the Alien series, the Predator series, and The Chronicles of Riddick series.

The oldest of those movies is 1979; the latest is a franchise that started in 2000. Those hardly count as early films about alien invaders. This is followed by a list of "early films" where aliens are benign or beneficial, which range from 1975 to 2009.

I think there might be something relevant to be said about the history of depictions of alien life in SF film, but as written, the article doesn't even come close.

Also, as with the previous section, this entire section appears to be uncited original research, and largely incorrect. (For example, Avatar isn't about benign aliens any more than Starship Troopers is.) --157.131.170.189 (talk) 00:35, 27 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: Not moved. It would be best to group together all articles which use "science fiction" as an adjective and nominate it this way, to maintain internal consistency within the group. King of 04:16, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
