Sarah Bernhardt#The Jewish Female Body image

This section seems to veer away from a biography of Bernhardt into a promotion of one person's paper. It reads like a minor senior thesis. I would like to remove it entirely, as having no valid place in Wikipedia. Comments?--Quisqualis (talk) 20:38, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Agree with removing this section. It is not relevant to an article on Sarah Bermhardt and it needs more references. There is only one reference (Freedman, Jonathan (1 January 2013). "Transformations of a Jewish Princess: Salome and the Remaking of the Jewish Female Body from Sarah Bernhardt to Betty Boop". Philological Quarterly. 92 (1): 89). It would be more relevant to the Wikipedia article "Body Image". Svirbely (talk) 23:54, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

Sarah Bernhardt a "courtisan?"

I dispute the statement that Bernardt was a courtisan, that is, by definition, "a prostitute or kept woman". She had many lovers, but she was never a "kept woman"; she had an independent source of income. She had a police file because she had relationships with important and famous people, not because she was a prostitute. "Courtisan" is a degrading and inappropriate term to use for her. Try reading the article before making inaccurate statements. She was a prominent courtesan. :

I've added a couple of maintenance tags on this section. The whole thing is the summary of the views expressed in a single essay, on an extremely specific niche Bernhardt-related topic.
