Saltstraumen current speed
I have not been able to find a reference for the claim in the existing article of current speeds up to 22 knots. When I look at the Saltstraumen tidal current graph and tables at [1] I have yet to see a current speed over 1012 knots. Note that these tables use the main channel current speed, which seems appropriate when comparing current speeds with other channels, and is what is used in tide tables used for navigational purposes.
Can anyone point us to a reference for the Saltstraumen of comparable authority as, say, the tidal current table published by Fisheries and Oceans Canada at [2] for Canadian tidal currents?

Recursive name reference?
This is written under the section "Name" in this Wikipedia-page: "The first element is the name of the district Salten and the last element is the definite form of straum, meaning "stream" or "water flow"." But under the name section on the Wikipedia page for the district "Salten" this is written: "The district is named after the Saltfjorden (Old Norse: Salpti), and the fjord is probably named after the famous Saltstraumen. Even though the word salt has the same meaning in the modern Norwegian language as in the English language, these names most likely have nothing to do with salt, but are derived from an old (obsolete) word salpt with the meaning "strong stream"."
Both can't be true, but I don't know what version is correct so I can't correct it. DoRullings (talk) 21:58, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

The above account of the Saltstraumen is rather different than what The Norwegian Pilot reports.[3] The Pilot’s description of the normal current is based on the time of the high tide at Bodø. The greatest southbound current occurs about one and a quarter hours before Bodø high tide, when the inflowing current reaches about seven knots. This is not encyclopedic, but it's not clear which paragraph is actually the OR. StarM 14:11, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
