Power sources

Is it true that the Milwaukee Road had one or more snowplows that were powered by catenary? SpaceCaptain 21:53, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, I don't think so. They had a couple F7B units (X1 and X2) for rotary power and some wedge plows (like one that is currently on static display in Harlowton), but I don't recall seeing anything about rotaries powered off the wire. Slambo (Speak) 14:20, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, at least one, X900212, was able to power the rotary plow drive shaft from either the overhead catenary or a following diesel unit. In either case, it required an accompanying locomotive to push the unit. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.191.124.173 (talk) 04:00, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Modern alternatives?

The article states that wedge plows preceded rotary plows and that rotary plows are seldom used today. What is used? Thanks Littenberg (talk) 17:57, 10 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
