Including Zachary and Cody, Electric Boogaloo
The 2014 discussion on including Zachary and Cody Williams in the infobox has been stalled for quite a while with no consensus. At this point, I wonder if we can get a consensus to include them (such as an RfC, etc.). Thoughts? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 14:49, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Just making sure I understand correctly: there's a conversation from 2014 about whether to include Robin Williams' adult children in the infobox in his article, this conversation has no comments for 10+ years, it is somehow still open with no consensus reached, and you would like it to be closed but first more people need to weigh in. Is my understanding correct? Delectopierre (talk) 07:14, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- Think so. There's currently a hidden note in the infobox: Template:Tquote. Also, for reference, the Template:Infobox person documentation regarding the children parameter reads: Template:Tquote Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 07:55, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think it needs further discussion if the current infobox satisfies the infobox manual of style. Seasider53 (talk) 11:11, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
A question about Mr. Williams' compassionate activities
I read an article in Quora that claimed that Robin Williams spent a good deal of his spare time and energy in one-on-one visits to sick children in the hospital. It focused on terminally ill children facing cancer. The article claimed that he avoided getting public recognition for these efforts, doing them practically anonymously, as far as possible.
Perhaps I should not introduce this subject. If the stories are untrue, then they obviously should not be brought up in his bio. On the other hand, the idea was so compelling, that if true, then perhaps the world should know, when they come to read about Mr. Williams' life. Such a use of his gifts would seem an incredible thing. And even if it had been his desire to never be recognized or thanked for these encounters, it seems almost all the more compelling to do so, if they are a true glimpse into his character.
Stuart Hopkins tells an incredible "make a Wish" story about him on Quora.
Pusp L. also tells a set of stories about his visits to children, also on Quora.
So, I'm wondering how one could research and verify or discount such anecdotes? Historical research is not one of my skills. MarkGoldfain (talk) 17:22, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
