I have a problem with this statement: His products have recently lost a great deal of market share to Microsoft's Windows Media Player.

...for the following reasons:

  • It's vague. Did RealRhapsody lose market share to WMP? Did Microsoft Word lose marketshare to WMP (Rob managed that product many moons ago)? How much is "a great deal"?
  • It's not relevant. Why put this in Rob Glaser's bio? Why not put it in the article about RealNetworks, since I'm presuming its RealNetworks' products that are the question?
  • It's not NPOV. "Great deal" is subjective.

I'm a longtime RealNetworks employee, so I'm not going to say much more than this on the subject. However, it would be nice if this went away. -- RobLa 05:50, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

the old net worth figure seemed way too high

from recode 2014: "Glaser still owns 37 percent of RealNetworks, which was worth $10 billion at its peak in early 2000, just before the Web 1.0 crash. It now has a $282 million market valuation." So, 37% of $282m is $104m at the time of that article but now in 2016 RNWK's market cap is $155m so 37% of that is $57m — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.108.54.119 (talk) 16:59, 28 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Glaser is not a billionaire

the citation (shown currently) from Forbes magazine 20 years ago in the height of the .com boom is not evidence of Glaser being a billionaire in 2018. Glaser was removed from the Forbes list of the wealthiest when the RNWK stock price collapsed in the .com crash more than 15 years ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.7.192.88 (talk) 16:50, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
