Composition and time of the vedic hymns
Generally: as is proven by the content, the Rigveda is a compilation of hymns of different yugas which are not arranged in chronological order. They were composed in special situations but later used by the brahmins for their purposes in the sacrifice, as is proven by the Brahmanas. Today the real purpose and meaning of the hymns is no more known and even the oldest still existing commentaries show this lack of understanding. To make it short: the original purport of the Veda was the worshopping of Constellations, depicted as gods. This is not limited to the constellations of the zodiac but includes them. For example Vishnu means the constellation Orion, Indra the constellation Hercules, the Ashvins the constellation Gemini, Rudra the constellation Sagitarius and so on. This interpretation is not based on imagination but on the description, included in the hymns. 2003:F5:F710:CB00:E561:50F:B9EB:D2A3 (talk) 13:16, 8 January 2023 (UTC)

Title italicized?
WP:ITALICTITLE states that "Template:Xt" Rigveda is the most major in Vedas, an already major composition within Hinduism, so shouldn't it be non italicized? User:ExclusiveEditor/Signature 14:30, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- @ExclusiveEditor yes I agree. Unless someone strongly disagrees, I think we can change this. Asteramellus (talk) 01:26, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
Dates and location
You should more sources of dates of rig-Ved, especially dates from genuine Indian scholars, so that European bias can be removed. Saraswati is Ghaggar-Hakra river and it is not located in Afghanistan. Just by reviewing few lines I can see that this text is biased . 49.187.20.50 (talk) 07:40, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Script error: No such module "protected edit request". Footnote 5 misspells ‘mythical’ as ‘myphical’. Please change the latter to the former. 73.102.139.31 (talk) 00:19, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
