Place name Pimroy

Note 1 says, "Pimroy does not appear to be an actual place-name." Sure it is. The village of Pomeroy is on a hill in Ireland... the old song "The Mountains of Pomeroy" by George Sigerson has many of the same phrases and theme including the name. /Friendly Person (talk) 01:27, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Brought up in Venus' train

There is a lot that concerns me about this song which I first heard in 1969 and did not sound to me like a "normal" folk song. On first hearing I assumed "...brought up in Venus' train" was intended to be "...brought up in Venus' trade" which I knew as a euphemism for prostitution. Exactly how this fits into the narrative is not clear.IainWallace (talk) 23:15, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
