Immigration and emigration

I have removed the following sentence, which is obviously incorrect as written and not supported by the reference. It was possibly intended to refer to legal immigrants.

If the situation arises, Puerto Rico could vote for independence which is something that it could not do if it becomes a state Gabriellexmendez (talk) 15:41, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

3rd paragraph contains a typo, replace "Overseas" with "Oversees", sentence containing typo included below for ease of locating the error " as it is not a state, Puerto Rico does not have a vote in the U.S. Congress, which overseas it under the Puerto Rico Federal Relations Act of 1950. Congress approved a territorial constitution in 1952" 2600:1003:A810:2FF6:FC4F:F904:8ACE:AF9F (talk) 22:50, 3 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Typo

In the third paragraph, “overseas” should be “oversees” 2600:1008:B0CA:794E:1429:AACB:FED5:1281 (talk) 23:44, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

The update will be made after the inauguration; for the moment, the present value remains correct. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:29, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Newly added reference

I have recently added a reference for a claim in the history section and sub section U.S. era reference number 64. I am new, so i may have made a mistake. Please let me know if i did. Planelover26 (talk) 03:16, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Planelover26, thanks for helping to source the article! It's a helpful addition. To better refine, it would be best placed after "which made Puerto Ricans U.S. citizens,", as the source you added covers that part of the text, but not the constitution part. Best, CMD (talk) 03:26, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis Thank you for the advice, i have moved the placement of the reference. I can't find anything related to the constitution, so i will leave it un referenced for now. Please let me know if i made any more mistakes. Planelover26 (talk) 03:56, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

There is errors in this sentence:

"The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico has an area of 5,320 square miles (13,800 km2), of which 3,420 sq mi (8,900 km2) is land and 1,900 sq mi (4,900 km2) is water.[82] "

It should be (source the same [82]) :

"The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico has an area of 3515 square miles (9104 km2), of which 3459 sq mi (8959 km2) is land and 56 sq mi (145 km2) is water.[82]" Audraudra (talk) 22:37, 17 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Calling Code

The calling code is just +1. The 787 is an area code. The articles for the US and Canada don't say "calling code: +1" and proceed to list every single area code in the country. We shouldn't treat this country any differently just because they only have one area code, or a number that's small enough to list all of. And in this case Puerto Rico is part of the United States. We don't do this for every state. 2601:249:1A80:22E0:95A5:38B9:1DB7:FCD1 (talk) 20:19, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
