Here the projective linear group is treated under general linear group.

- Charles, the guy who told me this definition now says that he agrees; it is not a textbook definition. i guess i should just delete this article, make it a redirect to General linear or something?
Projective profinite group
There is a substantial discussion of projective profinite groups in Script error: No such module "citation/CS1". These are projective groups G such that if A,B are finite, and G → A and B → A are epimorphisms, then there is a map G → B. That reference uses the term "projective group" for the concept. They turn up, for example, as the Galois groups of PAC fields. Since there are no links to this page that refer to projective linear group, it seems reasonable to use this page for an article based on that material. Deltahedron (talk) 06:29, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
