Does someone know how to fix the structure diagram so that it actually has potassium in it, instead of only showing the anion? 70.49.105.215 (talk) 13:20, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

File:Yes check.svg Done, I would have thought you would notice that the structure of HgI42- was incorrect instead of complaining about the potassium.--Smokefoot (talk) 13:59, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, why would you want to detect small amounts of ammonia?

Human nature: people like to detect traces of lots of stuff out of curiosity or by pressure of regulations. See analytical chemistry.--Smokefoot (talk) 13:59, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

what is the difference between Nessler's reagent for ammonia and Nessler's reagent for acetone in methanol (ASTM D 1612) thanks

Sorry for being picky, but shouldn't 2.5 mol/L be changed simply to M (i.e. Molar)? Infinitys 7th 20:58, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

mol · l-1 (with a small "L") is correct, M and N is obsolete. 80.136.237.146 23:43, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ammonia can be a health hazard and when determining the amount in the air or soil or water you need to run a linear regression curve to compare the sample to. While it may not be Health risk you need to see the small amount in order to quantify the amount.
