How to edit

Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject Cities standards might help.

William Craford

The article mentions that the town was founded by William Craford, but the link on his name takes you to a disambiguation page, none of which seem to be him. If there is a page for him, we need to adjust it. If not, we need to create one or get rid of the link. CsikosLo 13:49, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Crime stats

The sentence in the introduction stating that "Portsmouth had the misfortune of being the 95th most dangerous city in 2010" is not appropriate for the opening. If someone wants to include it, it needs to be in a section dealing with crime or other data, and it needs a citation. Those kinds of studies are often misleading or biased and the inclusion of that statistic with the term "misfortune" seems to be an expression of someone's personal bias against the city in itself.

Pronounciation?

I'm confused on how you pronounce this city. Is it said as "ports-MOUTH", or is it said as "ports-MYTH" like Plymouth is said with "Myth" and not "mouth"? 2600:100A:B0CC:B983:21A9:A324:2B5B:AC52 (talk) 20:10, 25 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

It's "ports-MYTH" Mukedits (talk) 22:49, 13 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
