Need for separate articles

This article appears to need some work and probably splitting up into several separate articles. It appears to conflate three or four separate meanings of the word into one article without distinction.

Wiktionary lists three meanings of the word:

a parrot or green woodpecker A heraldic (or other) representation of a parrot A garrulous and conceited person.

for example perhaps there should be:

1. Popinjay (bird)
2. Popinjay (archery)

I have tried to moved the archery and shooting information to Popinjay (sport) but the main article is still a mess and I can't decide how to organize it. - Mmn100 04:10, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Hitchens
