Move to Scientific name reverted as it was against Wikipedia policy of using common names where possible. See Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Use_common_names_of_persons_and_things
It's part of a project discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tree of Life#Scientific name page titles. It makes the indexing at Category:Podocarpaceae work in that it groups all species in the genus together. Over 90% of the species in Podocarpaceae don't have any common name at all; to have a small handful indexed separately by common name is unhelpful. - MPF 11:15, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
- On the other hand WikiProject_Tree_of_Life#Article_titles_and_common_names says to use the common name if unique. Alan Liefting 09:06, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
This article states that Totara wood is hard, whereas personal experience suggests it is one of the softest NZ woods... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.60.137.120 (talk) 15:38, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
