Half Hour Drive
approximately a half-hour drive (without traffic) from either Oakland or San Francisco

Pinole is less than 17 miles from Oakland. if you were driving in non-peak traffic times, you could easily get from Oakland to Pinole in under 20 minutes. I've done it several times as I live in Oakland and have done some work in Pinole.
Someone should add a section about major construction projects in Pinole
