Untitled
Since final -ia, -ie, and -ee in Greek loans are all traditionally pronounced [ee-uh] in English, this moon should probably be pronounced the same as Pasithea, [pa-SITH-ee-uh] (per the Random House dictionary). However, I received the following email from someone at JPL who only signed as "Ellis":
"Pronunciation of the moon names is an iffy thing at best. We still don't have universal agreement on the pronunciation of the Galilean satellite names. I can make an educated guess, but that is all it is:
Euporie (you-POOR-ee) Orthosie (ore-THO-see) Pasithee (PASS-i-thee)
Unlike Euporie and Orthosie, in Pasithee this shifts the placement of the accent.
In more traditional spelling, there is a dieresis over the second e to show that the name Pasithee has four syllables. ________________
The Greek spelling is Πασιθεη, which is Latinized as either Pasithea or Pasitheë. --kwami

Name Origin
In discussing the namesake of this moon, the article states, "Pasithee, better known as Aglaea, is the spouse of Hypnos (Sleep) and presides over hallucinations and hallucinogens." As far as I am aware, Pasithea/Pasithee and Aglaea are different persons entirely--one is the spouse of Hypnos and the other of Hephaestus. Is there some kind text that identifies Pasithea with Aglaea, or is this simply an error in the article? 2601:989:457E:1D10:8507:FCFA:EDDF:E0E2 (talk) 21:40, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
