why small caps?

The article is formatted this way:

A history of Greek handwriting must be incomplete owing to the fragmentary nature of evidence. Why are epigraphy and papyrology in small caps? My instinct would be just to have them be wikilinks. Is there some specific Wikipedia style reason for this? --Jfruh (talk) 19:41, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
