Is not that the solar diadem he is wearing on the illustrated coin? Might be worth mentioning, if it is. Is a connection to Sol Invictus far-fetched? I ask out of ignorance. --Wetman 11:36, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Yes. It is common for emperors of the 3rd century to show their allegiance to Sol Invictus, Mithras, or other solar divinities.--Panairjdde 14:37, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dates as emperor

I don't understand why the first paragraph states that Numerian was emperor beginning in December 283, but the text then relates that his father had died in July or August 283 (at which time Numerian began to lead the army out of Persia). Why the "interregnum" from August to December? I don't know the answer, but the article should explain. Wbkelley (talk) 15:17, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
