Needed Content
There may have been an article NFA34 that was removed, maybe information on it would be appropriate considering it redirects to this article. Or maybe an edit of Gun_laws_in_the_United_States_(by_state)#Virginia would be the best thing to do. What is the state code reference for the bill in idaho mentioned near the end of the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.41.35.164 (talk) 21:58, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
NPOV Background
The word "ostensible" in the first sentence seems odd and inappropriate.
- The ostensible impetus for the National Firearms Act of 1934 was the gangland crime of the Prohibition era, such as the St. Valentine's Day Massacre of 1929, and the attempted assassination of President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933
The references given state that these were, indeed, the factors. The word "ostensible" implies that there may be other reasons, but there is nothing in the reference material to support any controversy, and I believe this is speculation by the writer and, therefore, injecting an opinion where it doesn't belong.
