Note that the name of the plane (as far as I can tell from available sources) was Miss Macao, where as the name of the city is conventionally romanized as Macau. Please don't change the name of the plane to Macau without a reference) Zeimusu | (Talk page) 10:10, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

Date

So...why are we listing the date as June when everyone else (including Aviation Safety Network) says it's July? _dk 03:20, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hijacker?

On the page List_of_accidents_and_incidents_on_commercial_airliners, it states that the lone survivor was found to be the lead hijacker. Here it states differently. Could someone resolve the differences with a reference? Khyth 04:54, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

What differences? I see they both say the lone survivor is the lead hijacker. _dk 05:10, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Second half is screwed up

Something is seriously wrong with the second half of this article, after the * in the third paragraph. I have no idea how to fix it. --ukexpat 18:29, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

PYB

What is a PYB? Maybe there could be a link to another article that explains this? I tried searching for it, but the first result is the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet. Don't fear the Reaper 03:37, 20 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't even mention the crash

One of the most interesting aspects of this case is that the plane crashed and the only survivor was a hijacker, yet it doesn't even explicitly state anywhere that the plane crashed. It just says it 'hit the water', and lists 25 fatalies. The way it is phrased makes it sound like the pilot jumped out after he was shot.

"The lone survivor, Wong Yu (黃裕; 黄裕; Wong4 Yue6; Huáng Yù), confessed to membership of the gang of four pirates who attempted the hijacking (then simply labelled "piracy"), met fierce resistance during which the pilot was shot, but survived by jumping out the emergency exit just before the plane hit the water."

Even if it doesn't give all the interesting details it ought to say "the lone survivor of an attempted hijaking of a Catalina flying boat which subsequently crashed during the attempt. All of the occupants of the aircraft were killed in the crash after the pilot was shot in a struggle after the hijacking was initiated, Wong Yu surviving by jumping from the aircraft before impact".
