We've got two Mirabai articles! I suggest that they be merged to Mirabai, rather than to Meera.

Google has 603 hits for the exact phrase "meera bai", and 139,000 hits for the term "Mirabai". Plus, my readings indicate that Mirabai is the more typical spelling in English academic books. --goethean ॐ 19:56, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

I support the merger. The link on the merge notice leads to the talk page on Mirabai, so I suggest that the discussion be continued there. "Islamic Mughal Empire"

"During a war with the army of Babur – the founder of Islamic Mughal Empire in Indian subcontinent.". I do not find any need for mentioning Islamic Mughal Empire,it was of course Islamic,yes the part I quoted is related to Hindu-Muslim wars but I find it non-sense to include Islamic for that,no offence,there is no need of it. Template:Ping, Template:Ping Context matters when considering a source. Advertisements, misc sections, infomercials, particularly from unknown authors in newspaper/blog are not peer reviewed scholarly works nor WP:RS for a biography. This article and wikipedia in general, is not an indiscriminate source of information, see WP:WHIM. Earlier, there were two Mirabai articles, one at Mirabai and one at Meera. When it was being merged most of the users supported merging it with Mirabai. But someone merged it to Meera instead. Personal names noise notwithstanding, I think that ngram shows dominance of "Mirabai" vs. "Mira bai" and "Meera bai" (Meera alone is higher still, but it does have a lot of personal names noise itself). Oxford Bibliographies has it at "Mirabai". It is indeed hard to collect hard evidence, but I think we should AGF and rely on editors' sense, particularly as it was expressed in the merge discussion. Actually, I did just that – but Meera is so common female name that it's guaranteed to pollute the results. Even if I "refine" the Gbook search for Meera poet, I get a lot of false positives even on the first couple of pages, by books written by Meera Shashidhara, Meera Goyal, Meera Malhotra, mentions of "marital problems of his daughter Meera", "girl named Meera Sen", Meera Atkinson, etc. No such user (talk) 13:33, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Oppose Bai is simply a suffix that serves as an honorific. Meera's poems/songs are invariably referred to as "Meera bhajans" and not "Meerabai bhajans", "Meera bai bhajans", "Mirabai bhajans", or "Mira bai bhajans". Support Meera may confuse people and mislead them. Mirabai is more common even though bai is a suffix. Meera is also an Indian name, leading to more confusion. South Indian Geek (talk) 18:14, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Name of the article

Refer earlier discussion regarding this. Name of the article should be "Meerabai" rather than Meera, because, in India, she is known as Meerabai. Isn't bai an honorific? As I understand it, it's like calling someone Da or Ma(i) or putting Sri before their name. She was called Mira/Meera but she is respectfully called Mirabai, where bai means respected mother/elder female. So I'm not sure it should move. Which policy takes precedence? Template:Ping it will come under recognizability. Title or not, the saint is most popular as Mirabai, not Meera. Meera is a common female name and is not specifically used for the saint. Upon searching "Meera" on Google, it will show the saint as "Mirabai" on the main page. You may check google books also. .245CMR.•^👥📜 03:29, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
