Book illumination and the printed books

It's certainly not sufficent, to write "but with the rapid displacement of the manuscript by the printed book the miniaturist's occupation was brought to a close." Read Lilian Armstrong, Giordana Mariani Canova or J. J. G. Alexander (exhib. cat. The Painted Page e.g.) about this item. With the introduction of printing in Venice by John of Speyer in 1469 a boom began for book painting in this city. Sorry, I'm no native speaker, can't add it myself. --DeinDoktor (talk) 07:32, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Certainly true for the big picture - how long did the boom last? This isn't a very good article, but that's the least of its problems. Johnbod (talk) 14:48, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Limited geographic scope

Trying to make less limited in geographic scope. Added Persian miniatures. --Dpr 14:23, 20 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Very Small Edit

Heading - "Italy and Byzantium, 3rd–6th centuries"

Paragraph 2, line 10, changed "aver" to "over. Tredzwater (talk) 00:09, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
