Dual categories

I kept this article in both "Category:Motor racing venues in Wisconsin" and "Category:Motor racing venues in Wisconsin" because it is nationally recognized and I wanted to see it with the Wisconsin tracks too. Royalbroil 12:59, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Heehee... you mean Category:Motor racing venues in the United States? --BaronLarf 13:21, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yep! I posted the same wrong message at Road America too! *blushing* Royalbroil 13:50, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Importance Assessment

Assessing as Top importance, as the MM is the oldest/longest operating motor speedway in the world. -slowpokeiv 22:27, 31 July 2006 (UTC) "The Milwaukee Mile’s premier distinction is as the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, hosting at least one auto race every year since 1903." Was there a year it only held 1 race? RealFerrari 17:20, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

A year with only a single event would have been rare after the first few years. In 1903 I am reasonably sure that only one event was held. In the first decade there were a couple of years with only one race that I have been able to find. I don't have my notes here so I will have to check but I will look it up and post it here. MM track records

Updated it to the new template developed at the American Open Wheel Wikiproject. The exact thousandths of a second on the race times are currently needed. --Chr.K. 01:05, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Images

We need a fair use image of the facility for ease of identification of the location. --Chr.K. 23:40, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A picture of the race track, a lot like what the IMS page has at its top right. --Chr.K. 04:18, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Track Shutdown

I think its premature to note the track in the description as in past tense, as if the bulldozers are ready to tear the track down. I think the page needs to be reverted to pre 7/2/09, and a new section should be added addressing the current financial/legal issues regarding the lay off.

There is lot riding on the track including: state involvement, payment of debts, change of business plans, another change of ownership, and decisions by sanctioning bodies (NASCAR, IRL, ASA) before the track should be referred to in a past tense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.227.42.251 (talk) 01:49, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree with this comment. Several professional races are being held this year and it is likely this will continue for a while. That State is not going to just close the place. Davegess (talk) 19:28, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

No NFL/Packers mention?

How can a site about the Milwaukee Mile, with a supposed "History" section, completely fail to mention that it was the site of twice-a-year Packers NFL games for many years, as well as the site of the 1939 NFL Championship Game??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.15.255.227 (talk) 21:24, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Banking?

Something to add to the article - does the track have any banking on its corners, or is it flat? PKT(alk) 00:10, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
