Talk:Microwaving
How about merging this article with Microwave oven? Peter S. 11:41, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- I agree. It's kind of silly how that article keeps referring to this one. Pfalstad 21:43, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
Contradicting referrences?
This is from the "Mircowave oven" article:
It is a common myth that metallic kitchen equipment, like kitchen forks and knives, can somehow repel the microwaves back into the magnetron and cause it to catch fire. This is highly unlikely. See microwaving for more information.
But in this article it states :...Metals do not absorb microwaves effectively. Instead, metals reflect microwaves, thereby preventing the latter from reaching the food. If the microwaves are not absorbed inside the oven, the oven can be damaged by electrical arcs and overheating of the microwave source.....
Can someone do something about this?

Authenticity of information
This entire article sounds somewhat like those urban legends ripped from a magazine of sorts. Some of the "dangers of microwave" stated in the article lack a source of any kind...
I don't know how to do this, but can somebody tag this article for a rewrite of some sort? --24.85.147.171 23:18, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
