Kilogram is a base unit?

Based on the metre?

WRT "The decimalised system is based on the metre". That implies that metric/SI system is based on the meter. But, it's not. I don't understand the intent of this sentence. Stevebroshar (talk) 11:58, 26 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
