Clarity
I don't mean to sound rude, but most of the article reads like it was written by someone whose native language isn't English; much of the information in the article is thus unclear. It needs revision (even if that means totally removing statements whose meanings have been lost in translation). 209.173.109.104 (talk) 23:58, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I also agree. The section "Mental model in relation to the system dynamics and systemic thinking" has some really mangled grammar which makes it difficult to understand. I'm not in a position to be able to tidy up the article though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MyopicShadows (talk • contribs) 02:02, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
System thinking
Jay Wright Forrester, in Industrial Dynamics, described a feedback decision making loop. Chris Argyris is famous for discussing (in many journal articles) the importance of the dual loop/ learning system. I think these concepts need their own wiki page, and this page might refer to it. (This might also clear up the concerns about foreign sounding verbiage.)Aaronchall (talk) 04:16, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Creating a list of mental models
I have collected (in my private notes) a list of serval dozen mental models. Would it be helpful to create a new entry called "List of Mental Models" that lists various mental models? If this seems helpful, I can get the page started and seed it with models on my list. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks! --Lbeaumont (talk) 16:06, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
References cited incorrectly
The hell is going on with these refs? Cite in the footnotes, you savages! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:3680:6050:B887:5541:36CC:9578 (talk) 07:39, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
- I agree. For example this lead paragraph is neither reflected in the main text nor clearly referenced, and should be removed if not promptly improved:
In psychology, the term mental models is sometimes used to refer to mental representations or mental simulation generally. The concepts of schema (psychology) and conceptual models are cognitively adjacent. At other times it is used to refer to Template:§l and to the mental model theory of reasoning developed by Philip Johnson-Laird and Ruth M.J. Byrne.
