Docking difficulties

Regarding XXF85 docking difficulties, I remember this was discussed in an Air Enthusiast article about the type, (but no, I have no reference, and no I can't remember what it said about military c.f. test pilots, if anything).

Units conversion

This is not right:

flight at speeds between 180 and 250 mph (200–300 km/h)

and, strictly speaking, this is not right either (excess precision):

released from the bomber at a height of 20,000 ft (6,096 m)

There's a case for using the Template:Tl template. GregorB (talk) 08:53, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, a few errors that "slipped in." Corrected. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 13:19, 6 December 2011 (UTC).Reply

Likely vandalism, needs correction

It appears to have been corrected. Thanks! Falconusp t c 16:37, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Stable version

Hi all, there is a new stable template that I have placed on this talk page. The purpose of this template, as explained in the documentation and in a short discussion at the village pump, is to help against article rot (the deterioration of quality that can occur in articles), and to keep a link to a stable version, which will be reliable, and not so prone to those errors, vandalism, and erroneous information that can crop up at any moment. It has no effect on the actual article, and can be upgraded/changed at any time - ideally to reflect a newer, improved stable version. This being said, if you are against using it on this talk page (some have found it intrusive), feel free to discuss or remove it - I believe that it will benefit some articles more than others, and I accept that not all will see a need for it on each article. May I add to the external links my own online monographic website about the Goblin?

Dear all, in March 2021, after creating the Wikipedia article about Edwin Foresman Schoch, I made some minor retouches to the McDonnell XF-85 Goblin article, and all went well.
Furthermore, I tried to add an external link pointing at a monographic website of mine dedicated to the XF-85 ( [1]http://www.cesarebrizio.it/AAFC/XF-85_page.htm).
Right now I don't remember whether I was contacted by some Wikipedian after adding the link, or I contacted some Wikipedian before adding the link, but in a way or another I learned that I could not reference my own work, because this would have amounted to exploitation of Wikipedia for an ethically unacceptable form of self-promotion, so the link to my page disappeared.
The fact is that - in actuality - my HTML pages about the Goblin are currently the most complete collection of information available on the subject, to the point that they are cited in the recent monograph by Tony Landis on the B-36 parasites.
I wonder whether somebody (not me...) may add to the external links sections of the McDonnell XF-85 Goblin article a reference to "The Goblinarium - A Small Online Museum for the McDonnell XF-85", available at the following link: [2]http://www.cesarebrizio.it/AAFC/XF-85_page.htm

Many thanks and all the best, Cesare Brizio CesareBrizio (talk) 23:23, 3 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
