MD-17

On this page I've discovered McDonnell Douglas published two images for the freighter MD-17, who know about that? -- Great Brightstar (talk) 19:13, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

This was a proposed commercial version of the C-17. See Boeing C-17 Globemaster III#Variants. -Fnlayson (talk) 20:15, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Do you know where this photo was taken from? I saw there was another McDonnell Douglas facility in the back. -- Great Brightstar (talk) 03:27, 12 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is St. Louis surely? Both because of this pic but also logically? Mark83 (talk) 06:52, 12 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Some resources on the Internet pointed out this facility was located at Missouri, so it's clear there was another McDonnell Douglas plant at St. Louis.

The picture was taken infront of McDonnell Douglas (heritage McDonnell Aircraft) St. Louis, building 002, at Lambert St. Louis airport, where McDonnell and after the 1967 merger with Douglas Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas World Headquarters was on this same campus, which comprised dozens of buildings on the airport (which is part of the city of St. Louis) and the surrounding areas of Berkley, Hazelwood, Bridgeton, Earth City, and St. Charles.
My source? I worked there from 1990 to 2000, and visited the facilities often on business thereafter. NordSmokey (talk) 15:05, 25 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

DC-10 history of problems?

I am curious why there is absolutely nothing about the problems with the DC 10 that lead to two of the worst air disasters in history. Seems there is a period from about 1971-1977 that is entirely ignored. Rather important bit of history for that company, right? 121.98.228.243 (talk) 14:12, 23 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Passage that doesn't make sense

> At its peak in mid-1990, McDonnell Douglas employed 132,500 people, but dropped to about 87,400 by the end of 1992

So, the number drops, but by a date that is before the previous mark? This needs work. Vrrtigo (talk) 19:22, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Key People addition

Please do not remove Charles Michael Niemann from Key People. He was the founder of The Stress Management and Work Efficiency Programs in McDonnell Douglas. He was the VP of The Processing Department. He was a company representative to NASA in the 70's. And lastly, he was McDonnell Douglas' loaned executive. OakLeaf7888 (talk) 14:02, 20 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please list here the references you have to one or more reliable sources that indicate he filled the roles you list. Thanks - MarcGarver (talk) 18:24, 20 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind. I will upload the URL of the images to as a citation so we can view them that way. OakLeaf7888 (talk) 22:32, 20 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

CM Niemann

I have added enough evidence and information to prove that Charles Michael Niemann belongs under Key People. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

This is my works cited. Some of you may still not believe he deserves to be under "Key People", so I am recommending we make a new section, "Important Figures", where Other important figures, not just Key People can be added. It would allow more former employees to get representation for their accomplishments at McDonnell Douglas. OakLeaf7888 (talk) 23:11, 20 November 2024 (UTC) Template:TalkrefReply
