Semi-protected edit request on 4 December 2024

Script error: No such module "protected edit request". Isn't "criticising" wrong spelling for "criticizing"? In the top 2nd paragraph? Also there's many more like that with an "s" instead of "z"? Why's that.. 209.212.196.5 (talk) 14:10, 4 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

"Use British English" is specified in the article headers, so such spellings are used throughout. LizardJr8 (talk) 17:07, 4 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Reference issue

A user added the Better source needed template to the ending of the second paragraph of the Education section where it now says "He graduated from the Al-Azhar University in 1966.[11][better source needed]". On the template, the user set the reason as "minivan news is a single editor publication, not WP:RS" which is false and thus Minivan News should be able to meet WP:RS. For one, if it is not a single editor publication then it should be easy for you to show that. The one advocating to use a source should show evidence of its reliability. Second, being a multieditor publication does not automatically grant WP:RS Czarking0 (talk) 15:22, 9 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Czarking0 You mentioned in this that Minivan News is not a reliable source. I wonder why? Because Maldives Independent, previously known as Minivan news is one of the largest newses in the Maldives since 2004, and is a reliable source. The reason why the website "https://minivannewsarchive.com" is because the news was suspended and the original version of it was taken down, so they made a archive website, but still its reliable. The bluetext indicates it was founded by a political party. That bolsters my belief that it is not RS. Can you explain why you think minivan news is RS? Being large does not make you RS WP:FOXNEWS Czarking0 (talk) 19:34, 10 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
The claim that Maldives Independent is Minivan News renamed is uncited and potentially wrong. Czarking0 (talk) 19:40, 10 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
It was renamed and stated by Maldives Independent according to this Unilandofma(Talk to me!) 06:21, 11 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Ok nice that gives me some confidence that Maldives Independent as relaunched in 2025 is RS. I am not sure that applies to minivan news in 2012 but I think that we can say minivan news is RS in this case. FYI I still think this one is not RS. Czarking0 (talk) 06:43, 11 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Czarking0 I agree about that Unilandofma(Talk to me!) 09:13, 11 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
