Ahmadinejad or Ahmedinejad?
There seems to be some disagreement on the spelling of this fellow's name, though clearly consensus seems to favour the former. Not sure what the paradigm is on transliterated names, but I've removed the "Ahmedinejads" that appear within the article for consistency's sake. Spongebubby (talk) 03:05, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

Car crash/assassination attempt removal
Hi, I removed a section that has been in this article since the July 26 2024 alluding to an alleged assassination attempt via car crash, originally added by now-blocked sockpuppet user UnspokenPassion. The allegation that this occurred comes from Iran International (II) via anonymous sources. II is an anti-regime source whose reliability has not officially been covered by Wikipedia. Aside from the original II story, all other sources about this event are from tabloids or Israeli newspapers (in the latter case, the connection to II is acknowledged). I'm not an Iran expert, but since II seems to have some ulterior motives in alleging that Ahmadinejad was the subject of an IRGC assassination plot, I've removed it for now. If anyone wants to reinstate it, I'd ask that it's discussed here.
I'll add that Icewhiz, of whom UnspokenPassion was a sockpuppet, was pretty well-known as a competent sourcer. The sloppily-sourced addition in question, which stayed up uncontested for nearly a year, might just have been him trolling wikipedia. Theodore Christopher (talk) 01:42, 18 June 2025 (UTC)
