DARA

There is no mention of the Defence Aviation Repair Agency (DARA) who now technically run the base. There are still RAF personnel on the base, but most if not all the maintenance work is now done by DARA. The Welsh Development Agency (WDA) also have offices there. The Welsh Guards will soon be joined by a Parachute Regiment, and an Irish regiment.

I live in the area and the two should have different articles. They just need expansion.James Janderson 13:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Saint Athan vs St Athan

Has anyone got a justification for naming this entry RAF Saint Athan when the RAF have always called it RAF St Athan, and that is what is on its badge approved by the College of Arms? CS⁴⁶ 19:59, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Hospital at St Athan

Mention could be made of the RAF Hospital at St Athan, with some indication of how long it was in operation and any notable activities. My grandfather was treated there when he needed bladder surgery while stationed with the King's Shropshire Light Infantry at Tenby in 1940. I wonder if it lasted as long as the hospital at RAF Cosford (eventually closed late 1970s after also serving the civilian community in Shropshire)?Cloptonson (talk) 09:08, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
