Lyric news
I'm soliciting someone's interest in creating a link to A-lyric.com News about song lyrics and the people that write them. I've been running a news site about lyrics and lyricists since 2001. Although I quote from lyrics, this is pretty much the opposite of other cut'n'paste lyric sites. Writie (talk) 20:50, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Shakey Times
I thought people might want to look at Shakey Times' article on lyrics today: The importance on lyrics firmly remains on modern records —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.50.77.237 (talk) 02:04, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Page move
I moved the text about lyrics that don't make sense to the appropriate page, namely lyrics. Merenta 20:26, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Difference
What is the difference between a singer-lyricist and a singer-songwriter? eLLe.Le
- I think I get it now. A singer-lyricist writes lyrics and sings. A singer-songwriter writes lyrics and sings, and also writes the melody. A singer-lyricist does not write the melody. So a pop singer (such as Kelly Clarkson) who writes the lyrics (either some or all but in most cases only a verse or two) but not the melody is not a singer-songwriter. eLLe.Le
Rewrite
I have tagged the page for a complete rewrite. There is no introduction whatsoever, and a large proportion of the text on the page is almost irrelevant to the topic. --Richmeistertalk 12:11, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
contested statement removed
- In recent years, songwriters have written music as well lyrics more frequently. John Lennon and Paul McCartney also set a trend for performers taking responsibility for providing their own material. {{Fact|date=December 2006}}
Please don't return this information to the article without a citation.--BirgitteSB 19:51, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Royalties
I don't think this section is very relevant to the specific subject of lyricists, I think we should either remove it or insert parts of it elsewhere in the article (lead section?) PizzaManiac81 (talk) 23:30, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
