Radio Soaps

Are we just going to have TV soaps here or are we going to have radio soaps as well? If we are not going to have radio soaps we should relabel this page and create a parallel equivalent for radio soaps. user:sjc

I say put the radio soaps here too. -- Tarquin 16:38 Dec 29, 2002 (UTC)

OK. If it gets too big we can always split the list. user:sjc

Dr. Finlay's Casebook

Dr. Finlay's Casebook is listed under UK soaps. As I recall, it wasn't a serialized soap opera per se. It was just a regular TV drama series, where each episode is a self-contained story. Thoughts?? JXM 02:00, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Daytime or primetime?

Is the page for daytime or primetime soaps? The section for Canada lists a few primetime soaps (heck, I think they're all primetime soaps), but very few primetime soaps are listed in the US section (and, at this point, a good chunk of the primetime shows on the air meet the criteria). Un-numbering the lists

These lists don't need to be numbered, and I have been deleting the numbers. But even if we decide that they should be numbered, we should not type the numbers in ourselves, but rather use the "#" function to number the lists. See Help:List. The advantage of using the "#" function instead of typing the numbers in ourselves is that if we enter additional entries in the middle, they will be automatically renumbered. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 22:33, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bolding?

Why are some soap operas bolded (such as in the U.S. section)? If there's mp reason, I'll be un-bolding pretty soon.WIERDGREENMAN, Thane of Cawdor THE CAKE IS A LIE (talk) 19:10, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Quite obviously ongoing shows are bolded, makes a good sense. 178.93.117.12 (talk) 21:24, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

If ongoing shows are bolded, I'm going to bold Dallas (revived in 2012). 85.81.82.15 (talk) 13:05, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Australian TV shows listed as Soaps that aren't

There are a number of tv shows listed here that I believe shouldn't be as they are not serialised tv shows. They include (but are not limited to:

Medical Dramas: All Saints Police Dramas: Blue Heelers, Water Rats, Murder Call, Stingers — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scorpiousdelectus (talkcontribs) 14:57, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Confusion with Telenovelas

According the the Wikipedia article on soap operas, the genre is defined as open-ended (serial) story. On the other hand, telenovelas are not open-ended, but have definite endings. The lists given are confusing, confounding telenovelas and soap operas on an inconsistent basis. Under the US list, there are no telenovelas listed, though Telemundo in Miami has been making American telenovelas now for many years, telenovelas in Spanish but made in the USA. On the other hand, when one looks at the Mexican list of soap operas, there is a list of Mexican telenovelas referred to. IMHO, the two genres should be distinguished, even though one sees telenovelas referred to as soap operas from time to time. Does Argentina air soap operas or just telenovelas? I know Argentina is a big source of telenovelas. (PeacePeace (talk) 17:38, 22 March 2017 (UTC))Reply

Migrate to table format

I think we should switch to page to a table format so people can sort by category to find the shows in the order they want. Legend of 14 (talk) 23:48, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
