I am about to start whacking

sculptors who are listed here in red. A googling of sculpture and deJagger, for example, pulls up only the various versions of this list that are out there. Some of the red are artists that I'm aware of, but my feeling is that this should be a list of sculptors in wikipedia not a list of the great, near greats and any wannabe who want to be. deJagger goes first, then others. I just took both * Rossella Cosentino and * Matteo Civitali (1436-1501) out since this list only is concerned with sculptors in blue. Right? Carptrash 18:02, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

And I am about the remove a bunch more red entries. Some are no doubt real sculptors, but this list is just to link to wikipedia articles. If you must add tnames, at least make it a stub.

I've gone through Rupert Gunnis' Dictionary to glean all the English sculptors with a more-than-page-long entry. Not all were redlinks, as it turns out. These are all sculptors, 1660-1840, who should have a notice in Wikipedia. If not I've wasted a few hours. --Wetman 08:50, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

"This is a partial list of sculptors.'

I am going to change it to "This is a partial list of sculptors who have articles about them in wikipedia. It is an index of sculptors in wikipedia.

I might add "If you add a name of a sculptor and it appears in red type then it will be removed. Feel free to create a short article (called a stub ) and then the artist's name will appear in blue and it will stay on the list.

Totally agree with you there, removing self promotion and autobiography is a constant chore, much like reverting vandalism and the List of xxx articles are a magnet for it. You might like to consider joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Spam. There is a comment at the top of the page, but many people still don't notice it. -- Solipsist 07:23, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I just moved Carlo Marcucci (1962-)

to the place in the alphabet where he belonged. However looking at the article, Carlo Marcucci , and the doubtes expressed by others have led me about to the point of deleting it. However, I thought I'd post here first. Any thoughts? Carptrash 23:05, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Mico Kaufman (1924-2016): notable sculptor, no article yet

Recently deceased Romanian-born American sculptor Mico Kaufman is notable for having designed four inaugural medals and has executed commemorative works in public places. Deleted entry

I just placed this here: Template:Ill (1904–1990), Italy which in my mind should be on the list. A notable artist who has an article in another language. However, someone else thought better and reversed me. FWIW, there are a lot of artists that exits in other languages, like Template:Ill. Shahid Sajjad
