Chronology of N64 Games
This page seems to no longer exist, the chronology now points to a list of N64 which is not nearly as usefull as the chronology was. --Yorxs (talk 22:33, 26 January 2014
Inconsistencies in total number of games between languages
This version of the article lists 388 games total for the system but the Japanese version of this article lists 391. Does anyone know why there's a discrepancy between the two lists? I've been trying to get an accurate number for how many games the system has but everyone seems to come up with a different number. In various places I've seen 388, 391, 394, and even 400 (according to this book though that resource may be including 64DD and unreleased games in that count)
The 388 count on this page has a reference, but it's to a Nintendo Life article that is pretty much just a direct paraphrase of this reddit post ([1]https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/glzq99/fun_fact_the_entire_n64_international_library_388/). Neither the article's author or the reddit user give any indication of where they got that 388 number from. And despite Nintendo Life having the word "Nintendo" in it, I can't find any indication that the news site has any official connection to Nintendo at all. So it seems to me the most likely place both of them got that number from is this article itself.
I would love to know if anyone has a better source or any more context before I spend way too much of my life cross-referencing two long lists of video games separated by language and format. Whipmywillows (talk) 03:50, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- It actually didn't take me as long as I thought to find the three discrepancies. "Super Speed Race 64", which is the Japanese version of Automobili Lamborghini, and the Shindou (aka Rumble Pak) versions of Super Mario 64 and Wave Race 64. Seems pretty clear to me these don't warrant any new additions to the list. Still, it would be nice to find a replacement for the potentially circular reference Whipmywillows (talk) 08:29, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
