Helljumper armor

I'm pretty sure that "helljumper" is a nickname for an ODST Gary the stormtrooper (talk) 14:16, 27 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

The specific variant in Halo 5 is called "Helljumper", but it's pretty minute detail that doesn't belong on Wikiepda. I'll remove it. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 17:45, 27 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Inclusion criteria

Since there's been some major additions and some disagreements, might be worth hammering out things on the talk. Back in the day, we added a "recurring characters" threshold to try and cut down on some of the character listing; nonetheless, the article has ballooned to over 100KB prose size (18703 words) and that's really way too big. I recommend further restricting the list to only major supporting characters who regularly appear, and those that can have out-of-universe information added about them. A character appearing in two or three books, especially when those books don't have articles of their own, doesn't need to be included. Thoughts? Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 17:05, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Castor needed to be included since he's in 4 books so far with a fifth upcoming. He's been a major character in each book that he's appeared in and is probably gonna be the main bad guy of Halo: Divine Wind given the way that Shadows of Reach left off with him.--32.214.191.156 (talk) 22:27, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

The major problem is that a lot of these additions cannot be verified without a primary source, and thus fall afoul of WP:V in spirit. If it can't be proven without "look at a plot summary", they aren't majorly important characters that should be covered. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 22:46, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Gravemind into List of Halo characters#Gravemind

I don't believe Gravemind is a notable character that passes WP:GNG. The one real SIGCOV I found is in his section in the List of Halo characters, everything in his own article from secondary sources is fairly trivial. Please tell me if I'm missing something. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 14:14, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I don't have an issue folding the content in here. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 18:03, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Template:Ping Template:Ping Template:Ping Template:Ping Pinging the involved editors so this can be closed, which target should it point towards: This article, or Flood (Halo)?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 07:30, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

My position hasn't changed. Redirect the article itself to its entry on List of Halo characters, but preserve most of the content to Flood (Halo) since we now know that in-universe, there can be potentially more then one Gravemind as it is a manifestation of the final stage of the Flood life cycle. Haleth (talk) 12:53, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think List of characters makes more sense as a merge target, as most of the content about his development is either already redundant with Flood or not relevant (any of the plot summary.) Some of the content about the Gravemind's reception might make sense in the Flood article, but the lion's share would be better in the list. Inclusion of Unnecessary Plot Information in Character Descriptions.

Some of the character descriptions appear to contain unnecessary details on the actions of the characters through the plot of Halo. As I lack the necessary knowledge of these characters to determine what should be excluded as unnecessary, I'm requesting that anyone who knows more on what is important to the following characters to please cut some of the information. Wikipedia does not need to cover every single detail of their stories, that's the job of dedicated Halo Wikis.
