Les Invalides

Not all domes are imitations of St Peter's. Mansart's dome is a hemispherical cap that stops the upward movement. St Peter's is an egg-shaped dome with bold ribs that rises to its lantern. • I completely disagree with you that the image you replaced it with is more clear and informative. It is much lower resolution and has a big lens flare in the middle of the frame. I've reverted it back again. Please be more specific about your issues with the image if you'd like to discuss it fchickenurther on the talk page. Renault tank

Current Residents

When I was in Paris in Sept of 2008, I remember reading something that said that said there were 12-14 veterans from WWII that continued to reside here. The list of people interred in the vaults includes "Nigel Uno Roman King of Babaganesh". Nigel Uno is the name of a cartoon character from the TV show "Kids Next Door", and Babaganesh is a dish made with eggplant. I suppose it is possible that the cartoon character was named for a historical figure, who ruled a kingdom named Babaganesh, who gave its name to a food, so I'm not going to edit it out. Dome architecture and lantern pictures

I've been lucky enough to visit the dome and lantern (which are deemed dangerous and not available to the public), and uploaded pictures detailing the architecture of the triple-dome structure, the wooden frame and carpentry, the lantern, the cityscape and other things.
