A remembrance of "Madame Otero" appears in Colette's "My Apprenticeships", starting at pages 9-15 in the Farrar, Straus and Giroux American edition of 1978.--rchrd (talk) 02:59, 24 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not only that, but Colette's biographers Claude Francis and Fernande Gontier say that Otero had an affair with Colette, although Judith Thurman disputes this. It was certainly rumoured at the time. 92.40.12.123 (talk) 12:24, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Is the mention of her in Blixen's Out of Africa notable? --Klausok (talk) 05:56, 14 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes. I think it's notable. One of Karen Blixen's acquaintances had squandered his fortune on Otero, years before, when he'd been a young man. Blixen asked him, "And do you consider that you got your money's worth?" After thinking it over, he replied that he did. He had no regrets. Younggoldchip (talk) 15:37, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Statue?

This picture carries no caption. Where is the statue, and who was the sculptor? Valetude (talk) 20:50, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

It is in Valga, and is by Camilo Rodríguez Vidal. DuncanHill (talk) 21:20, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
