Prisoner's Dilemma?

The "prime example" of the prisoner's dilemma described seems more like an instance of chicken to me, because a mutual refusal to play failure cards results in a worse position for both refusing players (loss of the game) than playing one when the other person doesn't (you lose a resource in a move that also benefits the other player, but at least the game is still on so you have a shot at winning). While these are similar game-theoretical scenarios, they are subtly different and it seems fairly clear which one applies here. -- Milo

Actually, it looks to me like Tragedy of the anticommons, since you have several competing interests who end up competing themselves into defeating themselves. Moreover, the provided link doesn't actually claim that the "Kill Dr. Lucky syndrome" is the prisoner's dilemma at all. -- Saraid (talk) 09:04, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
