Dates

This article should have Welch's birth and death dates, but I have not been able to find them anywhere. If you know them, please put them in the article. Academic Challenger 04:58, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Myriad errors

Can someone who knows what they're talking about rewrite this article? There are more errors here than useful information. I don't consider myself qualified. Please, someone, start again. And for gosh sakes, find a picture of this important figure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.187.175 (talkcontribs)

Your comment isn't useful if you don't mention at least some of these alleged errors. KarlBunker 03:27, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guilty by Suspicion.

The stand alone paragraph, "The line was used in the Robert De Niro movie Guilty by Suspicion." could use some more context. Who said the line (actor) were they playing Welch? Pdbailey 22:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The IMDb full cast listing doesn't list anybody as playing Welch. They may have renamed his character, or given the line to somebody else (as Hollywood likes to do, even when a film is BOATS). --Orange Mike 23:18, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is there any more to Welch's role in the McCarthy Army hearings, other than the Fred Fisher episode?

Seems to me that the article deserves a more well-rounded treatment. Terry Thorgaard (talk) 17:21, 9 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Churning edits

Template:Ping Just removed the "years active 1956-60" absurdity from the Infobox. According to sourced info in the article he was a law firm partner in 1923, indicating earlier practice. 1956 is mentioned nowhere in the article. He definitely wasn't active after 1960. This item seems to have been interpolated simply for the sake of 'doing something.' Just checked on a hunch. In spite of Welch's listed occupation of "lawyer," the 56-60 number comes from IMdB, referring to his entertainment career. and IMdB is not a reliable source, in any event.
