External links

Some things just grow during incremental edits and sometimes get out of hand. The "External links" section, one of the optional appendices, has grown to 30 entries, including three subsections. Three seems to be an acceptable number, and of course, everyone has their favorite to try to add for a fourth. Consensus needs to determine this.
However, none is needed for article promotion.
Some links may be included in WP:ELNO, WP:ELCITE, WP:NOTREPOSITORY, or WP:NOTGUIDE. Others, listed below:

Criticism

Thank you, Otr500 for trimming the ridiculous number of external links and improperly cited links in this BLP. There are large sections of the article that have citation needed, where future editors perhaps could incorporate some of the WP:RS and WP:NPOV of that linkfarm, although few are suitable.--FeralOink (talk) 05:39, 2 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome FeralOink. Having been active in "External links" maintenance for years, I decided to tackle some of the issues involving career maintenance tags and around a nine-year backlog. There has not been but one issue so far at Talk:Code_128#External_links_2 where an editor thinks a long list is somehow helpful to the article. -- Otr500 (talk) 07:44, 2 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Request for help regarding direct report at State John Kelley

The current acting ambassador to the U.N. for the United States is John Kelley whom I can find very little information about. Over the past few months, he has constantly been in the news. He worked for Negroponte for five years while at the U.S. State Department. Kelley's foreign service career focused mostly on Africa and perhaps in Latin America for a few years. There's no reference in the Negroponte BLP to Africa that I can find though. If anyone else sees this and is able to document that linkage, it would be helpful.--FeralOink (talk) 05:26, 2 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
