Hardly ancient: the Hochzeit, even if the date given on the titlepage were taken as authentic, only predates him by a little over a century.
Speculative material removed

Poor Quality Article
It would be difficult to completely rewrite the pages concerning the Fama, Confessio, Chemical Wedding etc without including large parts of the work of McKay, Godwin, or McIntosh.
