Removed word princess

Some Native Americans have stated in various places on the internet that unlike European royalty Native Americans did not use titles like princess or prince when it came to the daughter or son of a Chief. So I removed the word being that it appears not to be accurate. Plank 20:35, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I've replaced "Princess" with "chieftainess", as a descriptive label rather than a title. David Cannon 23:21, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Removed references to people not related to this individual.

References to the President are not warranted in this article since there is no relation between Jane Rolfe and the President. That is like saying Warren Beatty can not claim descent from Jane Rolfe. That is just plain stupid! If people really want this faulty information mentioned it can be discussed either in the article on the president or in an article on the ancestry of the president, even then if it is wrong information there is hardly any reason to mention it. Plank

No, it is not the same. There is incorrect information about this in wide circulation, so there is nothing inappropriate about correcting such widespread misinformation. olderwiser 16:24, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)

How many descendants should be mentioned?

There are too many proven descendants of Pocahontas to give all the surnames, plus the necessary references for proof. But to mention only "the Randolphs" (only some of whom descended from Pocahontas) is hardly objective, which is why I've removed it. I suggest that if wanted, each of the children of John Bolling could be named, with their spouses, and readers then will have sufficient information to research any lines they're interested in. Poythress

The footnote suggests strongly that Thomas Rolfe's wife was not named Poythress, and that she was not the daughter of Francis Poythress and Alice Payton; yet the article asserts all that as undoubted fact. Either the question should be cleared up, or the article should reflect the doubtfulness of those claims. J. D. Crutchfield | Talk 21:53, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
