Early History Paragraph

This article states: "The first post office was established in 1814 when the area was called Birdstown. The name was changed to Jackson on August 31, 1819, named for Andrew Jackson, a general popular for his role in the War of 1812. It was the first town to be named after Andrew Jackson. The town was platted in 1815. The Missouri Herald, the third newspaper in state, was established here on June 25, 1819. In 1818, the town already had a population of 300. The first county courthouse was built in 1818 on Jackson's public square." One might think a chronological format might be somewhat less confusing. As it reads now, it skips back and forth talking about events in 1819 before those in 1815 and then skips forward again to 1819 and then back to 1818, leading to some nonsensical claims like the Jackson public square being established in Birdstown before the town itself was renamed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:801:4280:A710:A1:584F:F5C4:9F55 (talk) 15:47, 9 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
