minor change to preserve npov
I have made a very minor change in the Social and Political Goals section to avoid the assertion that "leftist ideologies" and "Arab Nationalism" are in fact discredited (I care not one whit whether anyone believes they are or are not but it's not consistent with neutral point of view to maintain they are while there is rational dispute).
This article name should be changed from "Islamic Fundamentalism" to "Islamic Extremism"
As a christian, i can't help but notice how the term "fundamentalist" is missused in this website, fundamentalism is a christian concept, not an islamic one, fundamentalism has also nothing to do with hyperliteralism, extremism, legalism, right-wing politics or the satanic panic, it just means believing in Biblical inerrancy and opposing liberal theology.(which has nothing to do with liberalism in the political sense)
As such, in order to not muddle the waters this article should have it's name changed to "Islamic Extremism" because fundamentalism is a christian word. 177.37.150.86 (talk) 20:29, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- Islamic extremism and Jihadism are separate pages. What needs to happen is material not mentioning fundamentalism itself, or simply muddling these different topics, needs to be removed. Iskandar323 (talk) 15:37, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Odd "Islamic fundamentalist groups" section
This section, which has now been trimmed off irrelevant examples seems to be at present more focused on extremist or Jihadist groups (that may happen to have been labelled as fundamentalist on occasion) than it is on aggregating groups that are more prototypically characterised as "fundamentalist". The section either needs to grow to include more normative examples or it would probably best be done away with due to its inclusion of only marginally related examples and the risks of confusion therein.
