Iou vs. Iō
I wasn't sure if Kuroda's given name would be best romanized Iou or Iō. Depends on which romanization system you prefer. I also wondered if there should be a pronunciation guide since users unfamiliar with Japanese might not know how to pronounce his name: it's EE-oh, not EYE-oh. CES 07:12, 22 Jul 2004 (UTC)
It means 'sulfur', so many Americans would be more familiar with the pronounciation 'Iwo', from Iwo Jima. However that pronounciation isn't correct, either. Should we add something about what his name means?
Kasei Daiō
I'm not sure about this, but daiō is a word meaning King, but in the sense of demons, so isn't Kuroda Iō a pun in itself without having the reference to this robot thing? It just doesn't say what the relation between man and toy are so it didn't seem to make sense to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.29.100.58 (talk) 12:48, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- 火星大王 = Mars King (seen on the robot's box here and here). Anyway, where is the source about the origin of his nickname? X-Javier (talk) 12:33, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Japan Media Arts Festival
I can see in the Japan Media Arts Festival page that he won the Grand Prize... Something wrong? (i don't read japanese) X-Javier (talk) 12:51, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
